As a retailer, franchisor, distributor, and manufacturer, Metro operates or services a network of some 992 food stores under several banners including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C, Food Basics, Adonis and Première Moisson, as well as 641 drugstores primarily under the Jean Coutu, Brunet, Metro Pharmacy and Food Basics Pharmacy banners.

In all, some 1,600 points of sale and 15 distribution centres provide employment to more than 97,000 people, making METRO the largest private employer in Quebec.
